40+ Years in the Commercial Furniture Industry
There were two major waves of, primarily European Immigration, that significantly established North America as the World’s leader in industrial output. The first major influx of immigrants arrived during the late 19th C through to the outbreak of World War II, primarily through the Port of New York. The second wave arrived in the early post-war years contributing significantly to the burgeoning economy that would last until the advent of the “Digital Era” in the late ’80s. There were several core centers in our Contract Furniture industry that emerged during this period of industrialization such as; Central Michigan, North Carolina, and Southern Ontario.
In the midst of this second wave of immigrants was a young man from Italy with; budding skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire for personal growth. He established himself in Toronto and over a period of some 15 years honed his skills to become a master finisher and in 1981 he established VIACRAFT. After a period of some 20 years a small craft shop grew into a well-regarded Custom Contract Furniture house producing; Private Office Furniture, Conference Tables, and Custom Products.
The next 20 years were to witness VIACRAFT establishing a North American-wide reputation as an OEM and Custom Furniture manufacturer for leading Wood Contract organizations. Today, in its 5th decade, Viacraft is not only a trusted OEM supplier but a reputable direct supplier to the contract furniture market, trusted by some of the finest end users, specifiers, and dealerships in the industry. Viacraft is being led by A team of well-known industry veterans with a combined 100 years + of industry experience.
VIACRAFT’S future vision fully recognizes the demands of societies’ multi-faceted lifestyles and within our industry, the emerging norm of the Hybrid Workplace environment.
